Check diagonal strut on integral carrier, replace if necessary
Model 232
Check/test procedure
Check if the below criteria are met for the diagonal strut:
- Component part marking (1, Figure 1) with item number A 232 520 38 00 and drawing geometry status 004 or higher.
- 4x TPE protective strips, bonded to side struts (2, Figure 1)
- 2x aluminum or plastic insulating caps in area of contact points (3, Figure 1) for connecting integral carrier.
a. If all above criteria (1–3) are met:
End measure.
b. If at least one of the above criteria (1–3) is not met: Continue with work procedure.
Work procedure
- Check for white corrosion on the contact points (3, Figure 2) of the integral carrier (5, Figure 2) after the diagonal strut (4, Figure 2) is removed. If white corrosion is present:
- Take detailed informative photos of the areas affected by white corrosion on the integral carrier (5, Figure 2).
- Open a TIPS case, include the photos taken.
Do not reinstall diagonal strut (4, Figure 2) or carry out further measures without TIPS resolution.
Figure 2: Check the contact points (3) in the area circled in red on the integral carrier (5) for white corrosion.
- If no white corrosion found, replace diagonal strut (4, Figure 3).
Only if at least one of the criteria (1–3) in check/test procedure is not met.
For basic information, see AR61.10-P-5141SLY. Wet the screws (6, Figure 3) with suitable thread locking agent and tighten with 3.5 Nm ± 1.0 Nm. Torque of the screws (7, Figure 3) according to WIS document AR61.10-P-5141SLY (see BA61.10-P-1004-01T.
