Summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020 GLB 250 vehicles. The window air bag in the A-pillar area may not be mounted correctly, affecting its performance. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 226, “Ejection Mitigation.”
Remedy
MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will check the mounting of the window air bag and correct it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 30, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA’s number for this recall is 2020100010.

| Given this notice, it is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to sell or lease any new MY20 GLB-Class vehicles in dealer inventory covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired. Once the remedy is available, the vehicles will be flagged as “OPEN” and Work Instructions will be available in Star TekInfo. Once the repair is complete the vehicle may be sold or leased.
Loaner and demonstrator vehicles may continue to be driven, but must not be retailed until repaired.
Additionally, given this notice, it is a violation of Federal Law for car rental companies to rent MY20 GLB-Class vehicles covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired.

Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:
- VMI must always be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns, and perform accordingly.
- Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Work procedure
- Remove A-pillar trim.

- Press on clip. There should be no movement once pressed indicating that it is secured properly and locked in place (A, Figure 1).
- Grasp fabric of Airbag and pull on it to ensure there is no movement of clip and it is secure.
- Press on clip (A, Figure 1)
The clip (A, Figure 1) must be attached correctly.
- Assemble in reverse order.

Dear Mercedes-Benz Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has decided that certain Model Year (“MY”) 2020 GLB-Class vehicles fail
to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, “Ejection Mitigation.” Our records indicate that your vehicle is included
in the affected population of vehicles.
What is the CONCERN? In certain MY 2020 GLB-Class vehicles, the window airbag might not be mounted in the area of the A-pillar
correctly, according to the current production specifications. In the event of a crash where the window airbag
deploys, the window airbag catch strap could disconnect, increasing the risk of injury. While the restraining effect
of the window airbag is not affected, the vehicle might not meet the ejection mitigation requirements of FMVSS
226.
What will your DEALER DO? An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the mounting of the window airbags on the affected vehicles and
correct it, if necessary. This service will be provided free of charge. We are dedicated to always delivering the
best customer experience, and respect for your time is a top priority. While the minimum repair time can be less
than 30 minutes, your dealer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this service visit. As a
matter of normal service process, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will also check for other repair measures
that might be applicable to your vehicle which may increase the required working time.
