SUBJECT: Models 204.0/3/9 Permanently Illuminated Star Installation Instructions
Note: These US specific instructions are for the star to be illuminated when the ignition is switched on.
A. Remove Front SAM
- Place a piece of tape on the water deflector to prevent damage (Figure 1).
- Remove cover from front SAM
- Remove the four screws in the front SAM.
Note:
When removing screws:
- Use suitable tool (Figure 2): 50 mm T20 Torx bit locally sourced e.g., Milwaukee® T20 (Figure 2).
- Also shown (Figure 2) is Facom® tools 1\4” ratcheting wrench for the back two screws.
- Pull the front of the SAM straight up while shifting it slightly to the left and remove from housing (Figure 3).
- Remove connector 11C from front SAM. (Figure 4).
- Remove the wire in cavity 13 from 11C. (Figure 4).
Note:
Wire color is: Pink / yellow.
- Plug in the wire (A, Firgure 5) from 11C, pin 13 into the cavity of the 2 pin connector (arrow, Figure 5) that came with “Y” adapter harness (A207 820 02 04).
Note:
Ensure the wire from the vehicle is in the same cavity as yellow /red wire of the “Y” harness for the fuse.
- Plug the red wire (arrow, Figure 6) from the “Y” adapter harness into cavity 13 on connector 11C.
- Plug the 11C connecter back into the front SAM.
- Connect Illuminated star wiring harness (A207 820 00 00) connector pin into 2 pin connector (A, Figure 6).
- Connect harness (A, Figure 6) into
“Y” adapter harness harness (B).
- Insert square rubber stopper (arrow, Figure 7) into the side wall of the SAM box.
- Install SAM.
- Fit the wire harness for the wiper motor on top of the rubber stopper for the illuminated star harness.
- Position the fuse (arrow Figure 8) as shown for future access.
- Install cover.
- Remove the Star (Figure 9).
Note:
Tilt the star out at the bottom (Figure 9). It does not turn on model 204.
- Remove radiator support plastic cover.
- Install illuminated star harness and secure into place with cable tie (arrow, Figure 10).
- Install radiator support cover.
- Connect and install Illuminated star.
- Check and verify all connections.
- Verify operation.
