Incorrect Air Bag Warning Labels on Sun Visor
If an air bag label is in a foreign language, an occupant may not be aware of the risks to children sitting in the front seat, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019 GLC 300 4MATIC coupe, AMG GLC 43 Coupe, AMG GLC 43, AMG GLC 63, GLC 300, GLC 350e 4MATIC, GLC300 4MATIC, AMG GLC 63 Coupe, and AMG GLC 63 S Coupe vehicles. The passenger side sun visor may have incorrect air bag warning labels, written in a foreign language. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
Remedy
MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bag warnings and replace them, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 3, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA’s number for this recall is 2020020014.

| Given this notice, it is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to sell or lease any new MY19 GLC-Class vehicles in dealer inventory covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired. Once the remedy is available, the vehicles will be flagged as โOPENโ and Work Instructions will be available in Star TekInfo. Once the repair is complete the vehicle may be sold or leased.
Loaner and demonstrator vehicles may continue to be driven, but must not be retailed until repaired. Additionally, given this notice, it is a violation of Federal Law for car rental companies to rent MY19 GLC-Class vehicles covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired. | ||||

Check/test procedure
- Check airbag information labels on front passenger sun visor to make sure US/English version is Incorrect versions may have been applied.
The information labels are applied on the outer side of the front passenger sun visor. (Figure1)

Specified airbag information label below is correct for the US/English version: The airbag information label must match this to be correct.
Work procedure
- Replace sun visor (AR68.60-P-5480NKB) and airbag information label.
It is not possible to remove just the airbag information label from the sun visor, as the information label is part of the sun visor. The sun visor must be replaced along with the new label.

Mercedes-Benz AG (โMBAGโ), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has decided that certain Model Year (โMYโ) 2019 GLC- Class vehicles fail to conform with the airbag warning label requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208 โOccupant Crash Protection.โ Our records indicate that your vehicle is included in the affected population of vehicles.

An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the airbag warning labels on the passenger-side sun visor of the affected vehicles and replace the sun visor, including the warning label, as necessary.
Unfortunately, the parts to remedy this situation are not available. We are working to obtain the necessary parts as quickly as possible. As parts become available, we will send you another letter asking you to take your vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the recall repair completed free of charge.
