This is to notify you of the Service Campaign Launch to check the regulation valve in 139 Model Year (“MY”) 2023 GLC (254 platform) vehicles. The vehicles will be visible and flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on April 19, 2024.
Issue
Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz
vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 23 GLC (254 platform) vehicles, the regulation valve in the low-temperature coolant circuit may become stuck. This would lead to a fault message in the instrument cluster.
What We’re Doing
MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the coolant valve on the affected vehicles and replace it, if necessary.

The remedy is available and can be performed as necessary.

Check/Test Procedure
1. Connect XENTRY Diagnosis.
2. Check function of coolant directional control valve using XENTRY Diagnosis:
Select menu item “Quick test view → N127 – Control unit “Drivetrain” (PTCU) → Special procedures → CHECK of switchover valves”.
Then follow the user guidance in XENTRY Diagnosis.
a. Fault message on coolant directional control valve (Y73/1):
Disconnect XENTRY Diagnosis and carry out Work Procedure.
b. No fault message on coolant directional control valve (Y73/1): Disconnect XENTRY Diagnosis and End Measure.
Work Procedure
1. Replace coolant directional control valve (Y73/1) of low-temperature circuit (Figure 1, 1).

Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain
MY 23 GLC (254 platform) vehicles, the regulation valve in the low-temperature coolant circuit may
become stuck. This would lead to a fault message in the instrument cluster. An authorized
Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the coolant valve on the affected vehicles and replace it, if
necessary.
Prior to performing this Campaign:
VMI must be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required
on a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns and perform accordingly.
Please review the entire Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as
described.
