The vehicles will be visible and flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on March 24, 2023. Background Issue Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2022 GLA (247 platform) vehicles, a crack in the sheet metal may have formed on the A-pillar in the vicinity of the wheel arch. As a result, corrosion may develop on the left longitudinal member due to potential water ingress. What We’re Doing MBUSA will conduct a service campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will inspect the affected vehicles and rework if necessary. Parts The remedy is available and can be performed as necessary. Campaign No. 2023030001, March 2023 TO: ALL MERCEDES-BENZ CENTERS SUBJECT: Model GLA (247 platform) Model Year 2022 Check Lower A-Pillar in Wheel Arch Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz, has determined that on certain MY 2022 GLA (247 platform) vehicles, a crack may have formed on the A-pillar in the vicinity of the wheel arch. The possibility exists that water ingress may occur and corrosion may form on the left longitudinal member. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the affected A-pillar area and rework if necessary. Prior to performing this Campaign:  VMI must be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns, and perform accordingly.  Please review the entire Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described. Drill off crack/sheet metal constriction at left outer A-pillar at ends using a 3 mm drill bit. 2. Seal crack at left outer A-pillar via the MAG/MIG welding process. 3. Clean A-pillar in processed area and rework with seam sealant. 4.
