WORK DESCRIPTION FOR FIELD MEASURE
Check ashtray inserts and enclose as aftermarket measure if necessary
Model 223 with code 301
- Code 301 corresponds to ashtray inserts in the front and rear in stowage compartments, as well as the rear cigarette lighter.
Check/test procedure
- Check whether two ashtray inserts are present in the vehicle.
There must be two ashtray inserts present!
It is possible that no or only one ashtray insert is present!
At the factory, the two ashtray inserts are stored in an accessories bag in the trunk.
The ashtray inserts may also be found in the vehicle interior. The ashtray inserts might be stored in the cup holders of the front and rear door trims on the left and right or in the cup holder at the front of the center console!
a. If the ashtray inserts are not present or there is an incorrect quantity:
Carry out work procedure.
b. If the ashtray inserts are present: End the measure.
Work procedure
- Enclose ashtray inserts as an aftermarket measure.
The test result determines whether one or two ashtray inserts must be enclosed as an aftermarket measure.
