This might unintentionally deactivate fused components (e.g. power steering assist, headlights, wiper system), which could increase the risk of a crash. When the issue occurs, the driver might notice a corresponding warning message in the instrument cluster for the system or component affected. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will inspect and replace the prefuse box if necessary on the affected vehicles. This service will be provided free of charge.
