Summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019 GLA250 vehicles. The engine compartment fusebox may come loose over time, potentially damaging fuses and disrupting certain vehicle functions such as engine, power steering assist, electronic stability control (ESP), and Active Brake Assist.
Remedy
MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine compartment fusebox mounting and correct it, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA’s number for this recall is 2020110007.

| Issue | Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain MY 2019 GLA-Class (156 platform) vehicles, the mounting of the engine compartment fuse box housing might not meet current production specifications. If the screw connection securing the engine compartment fuse box housing does not meet current production specifications, it could loosen over time and be subjected to vibrations. The vibrations could lead to excessive mechanical stress and damage to the fuses in the fuse box housing, causing contact interruption and preventing the availability of certain vehicle functions including engine operation, power steering assist, ESP system, and Active Brake Assist, which could increase the risk of a crash. | |||

| Given this notice, it is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to sell or lease any new MY19 GLA-Class vehicles in dealer inventory covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired. Once the remedy is available, the vehicles will be flagged as โOPENโ and Work Instructions will be available in Xentry. Once the repair is complete, the vehicle may be sold or leased.
Loaner and demonstrator vehicles may continue to be driven, but must not be retailed until repaired. As a matter of normal service process, please check for other repair measures which might be applicable to the vehicle(s)

If the screw connection securing the engine compartment fuse box housing does not meet current production specifications, it could loosen over time and be subjected to vibrations. The vibrations could lead to excessive mechanical stress and damage to the fuses in the fuse box housing, causing contact interruption and preventing the availability of certain vehicle functions including engine operation, power steering assist, ESP system, and Active Brake Assist, which could increase the risk of a crash. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, will check the mounting of the engine compartment fuse box on the affected vehicles and correct it, if necessary.
Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:
- VMI must always be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns, and perform accordingly.
- Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

- Open hood.
- Check all three threaded connections (Figure 1) for correct seating of the nuts and retighten with 6 of torque.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Mercedes-Benz AG (โMBAGโ), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in
certain Model Year (โMYโ) 2019 GLA-Class vehicles. Our records indicate that your vehicle is included in the affected population of vehicles.
What is the CONCERN? On certain MY 2019 GLA-Class vehicles, the mounting of the engine compartment fuse box housing might not
meet current production specifications. In such case, the screw connection securing the engine compartment
fuse box housing could loosen over time and be subjected to vibrations. The vibrations could lead to excessive
mechanical stress and damage to the fuses in the fuse box housing, and prevent the availability of certain vehicle
functions including engine operation, power steering assist, the ESP system, and Active Brake Assist, which could
increase the risk of a crash.
What will your DEALER DO? An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the mounting of the engine compartment fuse box on the affected
vehicles and correct it, if necessary. This service will be provided free of charge. We are dedicated to always
delivering the best customer experience, and respect for your time is a top priority. While the minimum repair
time can be less than 30 minutes, your dealer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this
service visit. As a matter of normal service process, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will also check for other
repair measures which might be applicable to your vehicle which may increase the required working time.
