Damaged Brake Hose may Result in a Leak
Over time, the hose could begin to leak brake fluid, affecting the braking performance of the vehicle, including the potential loss of directional stability when braking, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Summary
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. The outer area of the brake hoses on the front and rear axles may have been damaged during production.
Remedy
DVUSA will notify owners, and dealers will check the condition of the brake hoses on the front and rear axles and replace them as needed, free of charge. The recall began November 24, 2020. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. DVUSA’s number for this recall is VS3MONTLAU.

Given this notice, it is a violation of Federal Law for a dealer to sell or lease any new Sprinter vehicles in dealer inventory covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired.
Loaner and demonstrator vehicles may continue to be driven, but must not be retailed until repaired.
Additionally, given this notice, it is a violation of Federal Law for rental companies to rent new Sprinter vehicles covered by this notification until the vehicle has been repaired.

Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz
vans, has determined that certain Mercedes-Benz
Sprinter vehicles from the 907 platform (VS30) may have sustained an outer area cut to the brake hoses on the front and rear axles during production. If a brake hose were to be damaged during production, over time and as the material ages, the hose could begin to leak brake fluid, affecting the braking performance of the vehicle, including the potential loss of directional stability when braking, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. An authorized Mercedes-Benz
Sprinter dealer will check the condition of the brake hoses on the rear and front axle and replace them as needed.
- Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
- Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Sprinter vans, has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety
exists in certain Model Year 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. Our records indicate that your vehicle is included in the
affected population of vehicles.
MBAG has determined that on certain Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles, the brake hoses on the front and rear axles may have been
damaged during production. In that event, over time and as the material ages, the hose could begin to leak brake fluid, affecting
the braking performance of the vehicle, including the potential loss of directional stability when braking, thereby increasing the risk
of a crash.
To remedy this issue, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the condition of the brake hoses on the rear and front axle
and replace them as needed. Unfortunately, the parts to remedy this issue are currently not yet available.
We are working to obtain the necessary parts to correct this condition as quickly as possible. As the parts become available, we will
send you another letter asking you to take your vehicle to an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the recall completed free of
charge.
Should you have any concerns or questions regarding your vehicle before you receive the next recall letter when parts are
available, please contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. If for any reason a dealer is unable to remedy your situation, we

An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the condition of the brake hoses on the rear and front axle and
replace them as needed. This service will be provided free of charge. We are dedicated to always delivering
the best customer experience, and respect for your time is a top priority. While the minimum repair time can be
up to approximately 3 hours, your dealer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this
service visit. As a matter of normal service process, an authorized Mercedes-Benz Sprinter dealer will also check
for other repair measures which might be applicable to your vehicle and this may increase the required working
time.
For additional information and to schedule an appointment, please contact your preferred authorized Mercedes-
Benz dealer at your earliest convenience. To locate authorized dealers see
