The affected vehicles will be visible and flagged in VMI as “OPEN” on August 12, 2022.

vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year (“MY”) 2028-2021 S-Class, S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet (217 and 222 platforms) vehicles, the low pressure fuel line does not correspond to the current series production configuration. Therefore, it is possible that accelerated aging in the area of connection could occur, resulting in a leak. A risk of fire can be ruled out.

MBUSA will conduct an Emission Service Campaign. An authorized Mercedes-Benz
dealer will replace the braided hose of low-pressure fuel line and install a heat shield over the new braided hose

Replace braided hose of right low-pressure fuel line
Model 217 and 222
Work Procedure
- Remove right air filter housing.
For basic data, see AR09.10-P-1152MNL.
- Reduce fuel pressure via the service connection.
For basic data, see AR07.03-P-1460-01MNL.
- Remove bleed line between right cylinder head cover and oil separator (figure 1).
Sealing ring will be reused.
- Unscrew fastening clamps of low-pressure line (A, Figure 2) upstream and downstream of the braided hose.
The fastening clamps (A, Figure 2) should not be removed.
- Open CLIC clamps on the braided hose and take off (figure 3, left). Carefully cut through the braided hose along its

Cover work environment with a rag so that the remaining fuel is collected.
- Slide on new braided hose, position, and fasten with new CLIC clamps.
Slide CLIC clamps onto line before the fabric hose.
Position braided hose on metal line based on markings (figure 4, middle and right).
Metal lines must not be bent during assembly!
- Install heat shield over the new braided hose.
Close snap fasteners.
- Assemble in reverse order.
