Summary
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019 C300 vehicles. The center console lock-system might not lock properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 201, “Occupant Protection In Interior Impact.”
Remedy
MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will check the center console storage compartment, and replace it, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 30, 2020. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA’s number for this recall is 2020100006.

SUBJECT: | Model C-Class vehicles (205 platform) Model Year 2019 Check Center Console Storage Compartment |
Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz
vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year (“MY”) 2019 C-Class vehicles (205 platform), the center console storage compartment might not lock properly. Insufficient locking of the center console might lead to the center console storage compartment lid/door opening in the event of a rear-end collision, which would not comply with FMVSS 201 (Occupant Protection in Interior impact). An authorized Mercedes-Benz
dealer will check the center console storage compartment on the affected vehicles and replace it, if necessary.
Prior to performing this Recall Campaign:
- VMI must always be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the campaign is required on a specific vehicle. Always check for any other open campaigns, and perform accordingly.
- Please review the entire Recall Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.
Please note that Recall Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Check/test procedure
- Remove the front center console stowage
For basic data, see AR68.20-P-0901LWM.
- Check Q-status of the front center console stowage The Q-status must be at least Q-status 4.
The Q-status can be read from the replacement part adhesive label after the replacement part number. It will be indicated as Q4 (A, figure 1).
The replacement part adhesive label is located on the underside of the front center console stowage compartment (figure 1).

The findings from the check/test procedure must be recorded in writing on the work order.

Dear Mercedes-Benz Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Mercedes-Benz AG (“MBAG”), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz
vehicles, has decided that certain Model Year (“MY”) 2019 C-Class vehicles fail to
conform with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 201, “Occupant Protection in Interior Impact.” Our records indicate that your
vehicle is included in the affected population of vehicles.
What is the CONCERN? In certain MY 2019 C-Class vehicles, the center console storage compartment lock system might not lock properly
and allow the compartment lid/door to open in the event of a rear-end collision, which could increase the risk of
injury to occupants. The center console storage compartment might not comply with FMVSS 201.
What will your DEALER DO? An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will check the center console storage compartment on the affected vehicles
and replace it, if necessary. This service will be provided free of charge. We are dedicated to always delivering
the best customer experience, and respect for your time is a top priority. While the minimum repair time can be
less than one hour, your dealer can provide you with a better estimate of the overall time for this service visit. As
a matter of normal service process, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will also check for other repair measures
that might be applicable to your vehicle which may increase the required working time.
